Economic Development

AICUP Economic Development Resources

What is Economic Development?

Typically economic development can be described in terms of objectives.  These are most commonly described as the creation of jobs and wealth, and the improvement of quality of life.  For AICUP member institutions, the definition of econmic development includes improving the quality of place, proving opportunities for students and faculty to work with business and stimulating community development.  As there is no single definition, there is also no single strategy for pursuing economic development and, therefore, AICUP members are engaged in economic development projects in a variety of  ways.  This webpage is a part of the resources provided to AICUP members as they pursue their economic development activities.
