WasteStrategies, the originator of the AICUP-endorsed EPA peer audit program done with newly acquired Turning Bird Consulting, has expanded its capabilities and added resources to assist the AICUP member institutions measurable reductions in risk and exposure. In addition to our EMS, Zero Waste, Pollution Prevention, Sustainability, and LEED Audit programs, WasteStrategies is proud to introduce our new, web-based “Audit PRO” EPA/OSHA compliance software and tablet.

The "Audit PRO" tablet connects directly to our server through a secure channel. This proprietary software is interactive and walks you through the institution-specific audit process, step by step, and sends real-time alerts when unsafe conditions are detected. The data is then uploaded to a pre-formatted report that meets regulatory requirements for a more accurate consistent and timely outcome saving hundreds of hours in data collection and report compilation. Please contact us today for a free demonstration of our Audit PRO tool or Zero Waste Audit.

Turning Bird, now apart of WasteStrategies, successfully implemented the AICUP Environmental Self-Audit Program which gained the attention of colleges, universities and regulatory agencies nation-wide. In 2004, AICUP was the first association of private colleges and universities to enter into an agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to perform self-audits using peer auditors from fellow AICUP institutions. This program allowed AICUP member schools to perform self-audits at a reasonable pace of five to six institutions a semester; to assess the environmental compliance at each campus; disclose certain findings to the government; and implement systems to promote long-term management of regulatory compliance. The success of this project has led to the development of similar programs in many states in the southeast with programs in other regions now in the planning stages.
