NEW! Regional Broadband Collaborative

AICUP members increasinly recognize the need to integrate technology into their core operations to improve efficiency and offer a higher quality product. Many share the need for assistance in the effective application of network technologies. This project has three main goals:

>Encourage cost-effective regional networks linking member colleges
>Use networks to develop and deliver high-quality education services
>Accelerate technology investments in our communities

The establishment of regional networks opens the door for collaborative projects and grant applications, emergency communications, data security and shared library resources. The NTIA's recent announcement to fund $99.6 million toward a statewide backhaul network through KINBER/PennREN is likely to heighten the interest and demand for private IP connectivity.
