**The Impact of Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’s (PPACA) on Student Health Insurance**

On March 16, 2012, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released the final rule detailing the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act’s (PPACA) impact on student health insurance plans.  While some final rules are effective with policies that begin on or after July 1, 2012, others are phased in during policy years 2013 and 2014.

The AICUP Student Health Insurance Program addresses these final rules and assists member colleges with compliance.
