Keystone Initiative for Network Based Education & Research Network

KINBER is committed to the goal of expanding affordable, robust broadband throughout Pennsylvania and is working to create a statewide middle mile network that provides services to hospitals, higher education institutions, state and local government agencies, non-profits, economic development entities, libraries and other entities that meet the mission of KINBER.

It’s first major initiative is the Pennsylvania Research and Education Network (PennREN). The PennREN network is a public/private venture that will offer affordable, enhanced broadband services to K-12 and higher education systems,
health care networks, libraries, state and local governments and workforce/economic development entities.

Due to AICUP’s status as a founding member, (or charter member) in KINBER, all AICUP member institutions are deemed to be KINBER members.
