Lehigh Valley Association of Independent Colleges

The Lehigh Valley of Independent Colleges (LVAIC) was incorporated in 1969 by a group of six Independent higher education institutions with the mission to expand educational opportunities for students, provide professional development for faculty and staff, and engender greater economy and efficiency of operation among its member institutions.  The estimated $900 million contributed by the LVAIC member institutions has a significant impact on the economy of the Lehigh Valley region and local communities in which they reside.  The Business Services component of LVAIC has been profiled as a national model of procurement efficiency with a business portfolio of over $80 million in annual group purchasing of products and services. 

LVAIC includes the following AICUP member schools: Cedar Crest College, DeSales University, Lafayette College, Lehigh University, Moravian College and Muhlenber College.

Pittsburgh Council on Higher Education

The Pittsburgh Council on Higher Education (PCHE) began in 1962 and continues to be a volunteer, multi-purpose consortium of ten colleges and universities located in Alleghany County, Pennsylvania.  PCHE provides a means for sharing resources, insights, and information among member institutions; engages in joint or cooperative activities and projects; and offers a common voice on matters that affect all of the member institutions.  The member institutions educate more than 54,000 full-time, 24,000 part-time and 20,000 non-credit students annually.  The PCHE colleges and universities' estimated economic impact to the region is $3.2 billion annually.  In addition, nearly 245,000 graduates of PCHE institutions call southwestern Pennsylvania home.  The overall contribution PCHE members make to this region goes far beyond dollars generated.

PCHE includes the following AICUP member schools: Carlow University, Carnegie Mellon University, Chatham University, Duquesne University, LaRoche College, Point Park University and Robert Morris University.

The Shared Services Consortium (SSC) is the partnership of six independent higher education institutions with a mission to test and develop cost-saving programs among the six member institutions.  Once viable programs are developed, other institutions are actively invited to participate also.  SSC and AICUP Member Services often work together to provide a varied portfolio of savings and collaborative service opportunities for all AICUP member institutions.

The Northeast Pennsylvania Education Consortium (NEPEC) is a nonprofit corporation of private accredited colleges and universities located in Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties whose estimated annual statewide economic impact is over $750 million.  Launched in July 2007, NEPEC seeks, through increased emphasis on collaboration and economies of scale, to provide cost savings, service enhancements, and efficiencies to its member organizations.  The Consortium is currently focused exclusively on business service initiatives and group purchasing opportunities for its membership. 

NEPEC includes the following AICUP member schools:  King's College, Marywood University, Misericordia University, University of Scranton and Wilkes University.

The South Eastern Pennsylvania Consortium for Higher Education is a partnership of eight independent colleges and universities in the Greater Philadelphia Area, which, since 1993, has been engaged in a collaborative approach to the challenges of higher education, working together to promote quality and efficiency of academic programming, student access, faculty development, institutional operations, and educational and community outreach.  Collectively they enroll more than 20,000 students, represent the third largest higher educational provider in the Delaware Valley and award more teaching credentials and master's degrees in education than any other institution in the State.  The colleges and universities are also a major provider of undergraduate and graduate degree study in nursing and other health-related programs. 

SEPCHE includes the following AICUP member schools: Arcadia College, Cabrini College, Chestnut Hill College, Gwynedd-Mercy College, Holy Family University, Immaculata University and Rosemont College.
