University of Scranton

Now is the time to double the Pell grant to $13,000. We need to make an historic investment in Pell Grants, one that will help a new generation of students complete their undergraduate careers with less economic stress and immediately contribute to the American workforce.

Westminster College

Westminster College President Dr. Kathy Richardson said that for the school, “a college of 170 years of learning”, it had been a five-year journey with the destination being to support STEM and to launch the school’s bachelor of science in nursing program, which graduated its first cohort of nurses in May.

Neumann University

Initially, the pantry will offer non-perishable food items and personal hygiene items. Five community partners (mostly churches) have already committed to support the project, and there are also plans to collect donations from faculty and staff and to solicit support from donors. All Neumann students (graduate and undergraduate) are eligible to use the pantry.

Grove City College

Through a digital gallery of quotes, photos, oral history recordings and an archive of firsthand accounts, alumni and other members of the college community explain in their own words what they experienced on 9/11 and how events of that day changed their lives.

College Night has been an annual event for nearly 30 years and gives local high school students the chance to interact and network with representatives from more than 50 colleges and universities. The event is free and open to the public.

Harrisburg University

The university will host the Tech & Town Week events coinciding with the start of the esports tournament. Teams from 32 colleges and universities will be competing in matches of the video games “Overwatch” and “League of Legends” from 11 a.m.-9 p.m. on Sept. 18. On Sept. 19th, the semifinals and finals will be held at Club XL, with doors opening at noon.

Point Park University

“I have a great belief in access to higher education. It is absolutely necessary because access provides an opportunity,” Green said. “Opportunities bring about change. We not only change our lives, we also change our family tree.”

Susquehanna University

Sigma Nu Tau, Susquehanna University’s honor society dedicated to entrepreneurship, was awarded the Gold Outstanding Chapter Award, the highest honor available, and was named as the first place overall outstanding chapter in the U.S.

University of Pennsylvania

During this National Suicide Prevention Week, a group working to prevent suicides brought an exhibit to the University of Pennsylvania campus on Thursday.  One backpack after another.

Seton Hill University

Works on the cutting edge of sculpture are on display in two Seton Hill University art galleries.  The symposium explores “the ways artists are establishing contemporary sculpture practices that connect and interact broadly, often bypassing disciplinary, even national boundaries in their attempts to reshape the world,” according to the website.
